Space Cowboy's mission is to bring local, real food to people in cities across the world while empowering the next generation of leaders in urban farming. We intend to serve the modern farmer while simultaneously training future generations.

There are a lot of smart people in the AgTech industry, many with different visions for the optimum systems architecture approach and model for indoor farming all working hard to bring better food to market.

Looking towards the future our Space Cowboys will be responsible for developing and building new state-of-the-art "Sustainable Systems" that can be utilized by any and all people interested. Our products services and systems will be offered at a reasonable price and our clients will have huge potential to expand in every direction including up.

As with most hydroponic growers, the Space-Cowboy hydroponic systems will use no pesticides, and 90% less water than outdoor farms. There is no reason that current traditional farms should not endeavor to expand upwards as well. We will offer scalable solutions for the building and development of vertical farms on traditional farmland.

We will also give our customers a custom tailored solution for optimal energy usage. For example, with our patented energy generator. We can produce infinite amounts of energy on site so that no matter what the electrical needs of your farm are they can be met locally and owned by the farmer.

At Space-Cowboy we believe the food miles between the farm and the table should always stay at a minimum.

While we build our network we will put each farm on the map eventually we will be able to see which areas are under utilized and minimize the amount of distance between production and demand.

Most industrial food is shipped in from the other side of the world! For example we buy food from China and ship it to whole foods across America. The greater the distance between the consumers and producers the less nutrient rich the food.

With modular architecture we will repurpose pre-existing city infrastructure such as empty warehouses or abandoned buildings as we look for future locations to build a farm. We can pop up on an empty parking lot, a college campus, or even build into a new development.

Flexibility means we can build our Space Cowboy Farms literally in the same zip code as the end consumer. This means better, fresher and more delicious products for the customer and less food waste.

Our E-Commerce platform will allow consumers more connected to their food and the people who grow it. Whether they are a local grocery store restaurant or farmers market

Our farms are cloud-connected, and we collect millions of data points that we analyze to determine how changes in certain environmental parameters can impact factors like yield, taste, and texture of the final product. More climates in more containers means more feedback loops, which means faster learning.

To systematize this learning, we’ve built The Space Cowboy Farmer Toolbelt — a software which is now the OS for the whole company as we all learn faster together.

Working with Gordon Food Service to build farms across their network of distribution centers and retail stores brings us closer to the vision of a distributed network of indoor farms, bringing local, real food to people in cities across the world—while empowering thousands of next-gen leaders in urban farming through our unique training program.

Next-Gen Farmer Training Program, will teach people to maximize the potential of their own land at every scale. We will grow each farm business with a modular approach.

Through a diversity of Masterclasses taught by industry experts and professionals we intend to give all our farmers a personalized understanding of every facet of the farming enterprise.

It is important even for established farmers to have a greater understanding of their individual impact on the overall business as well as the earth itself. The Next-Gen Farmer Program will provide day-to-day instructions as well as a means for data capture, and real time analysis of both plant health and business metrics.

All this information will be accessible from a phone or tablet computer. This system also ensures that we track every aspect of production, from seed to sales.

Our Future Farm platform is exciting in terms of scalability, resilience, and efficiency, and it’s a really wonderful environment for our farmers to farm in. For urban consumers it means local farmers growing your food with love — which is why it tastes absolutely delicious. And technology enables us to grow a ton of food in a very small area, in ways that make a lot of business sense too. It’s a classic example of “doing well by doing good”.

It has been an exciting journey to our Super Farm platform. When we launched Square Roots back in 2016, we were very focused on figuring out the Farmer Training Program model — as we knew that farmers bring love to the food, the program would create enormous impact over time, and it would also be a long term engine of growth. So we partnered with a number of 3rd parties who could provide parts of the growing system for us, while we got the training program right. After that initial phase, and finding out what the urban farming world needs — i.e. higher quality yields with much lower costs to drive scalable unit economics, and ultra-high standards of biosecurity to support operations that are first class in food safety—we have developed our own technology specifically tailored to our model. This enables us to grow local food at incredible scale in ways that make sense for the planet, people, and profits.
